Humble Artist's Swap card for May 10th

Well, I am finally posting my contribution to the May 10th Humble Artist's Swap I participate in. This was a doozy for me, with all of the requirements. I can't say I've ever incorporated a tag into a card, so you may have all smelled the burning while my brain was putting this together.

Here were the requirements:
1. Create a tall card 4x91/4, must fit in a legal size envelope.
2. Stitch or sew on the card.
3. Use 3 different ribbons
4. Use buttons as an accent, may use floss, hemp or twine with buttons
5. Use at least 4-5 layers.
6. Incorporate a tag some where on the card.
7. Make something on your card 3D.

I used Adorable paper and my favourite piggies from the Nursery Bash set. I stitched on the upper left of the bottom mat and the bottom right of the piggie mat, with our embroidery floss and added waxy flax to the button. My three ribbon are Chocolate polka dot; Chocolate grosgrain and Blush ric rac. The mat with the piggies on it is popped up on foam dots.

All supplies from Close To My Heart:
Stamp Set: Nursery Bash & It's Your Day (Aug 2009 SOTM)
Background & Texture paper: Adorable
Cardstock: Hollyhock; Blush
Ribbon: Chocolate grosgrain; Chocolate Polka Dot; Blush ricrac

No art....only funny Justin Timerlake & Beyonce

This is a great way to start off the day...with a good belly laugh!

I was blogging and came across this skit I watched on Saturday Night Live. Had to provide the link as it is just as funny the second time around.

Check out those knockers!

This is my CRAZY BIRD card that kept me up until 8am the other day. I just had to keep working on it to see if would work out to look like this.

There are alot of details and I used my favourite Bird Basics stamp set. I also used our Key To My Heart stamp set; Dream Wishes and Priceless Love Word Puzzle. Colours are Juniper; Sorbet; Tulip and Colonial White. I also used my stickles over the embossing for added dimension and effect.

Humble Artist's Swap

I'm finally posting my Humble Artists Swap card for our Jan 10th round. I'm hosting this swap for 2009 and am still humbled to have been invited to join by founding hostess, Nanci Hatcher, in 2008.

Our guidelines were to use paper from a new paper pack from our just launched Spring catalogue. There had to be at least 4 layers of paper at any given spot on the card. We also had to use some sort of fibre, either ribbon; hemp or embroidery floss. Finally, we had to have two more embellisments, also.

I used our embroidery floss; Blush ric rac ribbon and Tulip brads with some stickles on them. I also used my cuttlebug embossing folder for added dimension. I used That's Amore paper and several stamp sets.

I used Blooming Flourishes on the Blush background; the words are from Feb Word Puzzle; my favourite heart is from Love Language; and finally, the cutey patootey bunny is from our A Birthday Wish set.

The bunny is stamped on textured Colonial White cardstock and then coloured in with chalks. I used our Tulip marker to draw the heart on his head.
