Random stamping

I've had lots going on these days, so I am a wee bit behind in posting. Here is another quick card I made with my random stamped cardstock, using Card Word Puzzle set.

The Colonial White cardstock is stamped with Ruby ink and matted with coordinated cardstock. The ribbon mat is Slate and the sentiment is stamped in coordinating ink. I coloured the flower with my Ruby alcohol markers, with an accent of Creme Brulee.

Avonlea Birthday

I am just finishing up posting cards using our Fall/Winter papers. Seems funny to say that......but with all of the Spring/Summer gloriousness, it is easy to use just  NEW patterns.

This is the 3rd card my Card Club made with their Avonlea packages. The sentiment is from Card Chatter - Birthdays and is stamped in Slate. The flower is stamped and cut out from the Avonlea Workshop On The Go Kit on Sweet Leaf cardstock. We added a brown opaque to the centre and did some creases for a bit of dimension.

18th Wedding Anniversary

My wonderful husband and I recently celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary. This is the card I gave to him.

I started with Card Word Puzzle and random stamped, with Ruby ink, an entire 12x12 piece of Colonial White cardstock. I added a Ruby cardstock base and scalloped border. I sneaked in some Whisper cardstock under the sentiment, which is from January's stamp of the month, Happy Valentine's.

That is it......crisp; clean and using the KISS approach.

M-E-O-W...............

This was an interesting card by request. I was asked to make a birthday card, which wasn't out of the ordinary....until it was mentioned it was for a cat's birthday! I happily obliged, as my Cozy Cat stamp was waiting for ink!

I started with some blue patterned paper from Surf's Up....ironic since most cats hate water! Then I had to stamp and paper piece the pillow from this gorgeous patterned paper from, Claire. I wanted a darker background behind this sweet kitty, so I chose Barn Red cardstock. I stamped in coordinating ink with an image from Intrinsic Backgrounds. I added a Colonial White border; then a scalloped border in Cocoa cardstock.

Both sentiment shapes were cut from Art Philosophy. One stamped with the sentiment from Cozy Cat, the other from, Say It In Style. I added Sunset brads and striped grosgrain ribbon. I also coloured the kitty's ears, nose and collar with our Alcohol markers.

I cut flowers with Art Philosophy and stamped them with the sweet flower image from, Girls Rock. I added Sunset striped ribbon and Stardust Glitz to the centre of each flower to complete this card.

I LOVE, Love Doily!

Since I missed posting this week due to the flu, I thought I would play catch up over the weekend. Do you LOVE CTMH's new Love Doily stamp?

I LOVE this stamp.......it reminds me of my dear Mother and the doilies my paternal Grandmother taught her to tat.

This card is so simple, yet snapped up in every colour, when for sale at one of the coffee shops I sell them at. I stamped the doily in Ruby ink on Blush cardstock. There is a Slate mat on a Colonial White card base. The sentiment is also stamped in Ruby and I've added some pink Sparkles.

That's it...simple, yet elegant.

It's A BOY with Caprice

I used all retired, but loved products, for this special order card.

I started with striped paper from Caprice on a Sky cardstock mat, on a Colonial White base.  I stamped the alphabet border in Pacifica on Colonial White. I also stamped, in second generation Honey, a background image on the Colonial White. It has Honey and Twilight mats underneath.

The sweet doggie was stamped with Pacifica, then I lightly chalked him in blue with pink cheeks and nose. The stars were cut from Sky; Honey and Pacifica cardstock. I added Stardust Glitz to the centres of them all.

This new stamp set played in nicely with my bird obsession! I needed a quick card for a coworker, so this is what got stamped.

I stamped the diamonds in Slate ink on Slate cardstock and put that on a Colonial White card base. I stamped the bird image in Desert Sand ink on Colonial White, then got to colouring with my Ruby and Cotton Candy Alcohol makers. I added a wee bit of Grey Wool Baker's Twine, then stamped the sentiment in Slate on Whisper on Colonial White cardstock.

Chantilly with a sketch

I was encouraged by my HAS cohort, Karen Day, to create based on a sketch for Freshly Made Sketches a while back. While I created this card, I never quite made it to posting it for the challenge. I loved the card, nonetheless, so here it is!

The glorious great patterned paper is from NEW Chantilly......I LOVE this paper! I cut the zip strip and added it beside my Twilight border. I stamped the flourish images from retired Blooming Flourishes, in Outdoor Denim ink. The sentiment, also stamped in Outdoor Denim is from April stamp of the month, Sunshine.

Finally, my sweet bird......she is cut from Sweet Leaf cardstock with my fabulous Fiskars Fuse. I inked the die with Twilight ink before cutting. The picture does not depict this, but she is embossed where ink has touched her, also. I added a Sparkle for her eye.

I hope you have a great weekend. I am attending an annual crop for MS tomorrow. It takes place in a wonderful cathedral style building, at Shawnigan Lake school. It will run from 9am - 9pm and we are always fed an amazing lunch and dinner by school staff.
Thanks to Charlene Ogden for organizing this annually. She does an amazing job and I look forward to it all year....every year!

The border is Chocolate cardstock with the sentiment, from Card Chatter - Birthday, stamped in Chocolate ink. The Slate shape is stamped with an image from the Avonlea WOTG stamp set in coordinating ink. Then my favourite part was shaping the rolled flower, with a Sparkle for the centre.

Flirty and Pun Fun

My Hostess Card Club used Flirty and Pun Fun for January's class. I really gave them a work out, as we used each of the 6 stamps twice, for a total of 12 cards. I also made them colour each image with alcohol markers, too. Here are the first two with the lemon.

I coloured with Copic markers for the lemon.. Everything else for paper and cardstock is contained in the Flirty kit. All edges were sponged with Desert Sand ink.

Humble Artrist's Swap

I am finally able to post the card I made for the Humble Artist's Swap I host. This card was for the Dec 10, 2012 swap date.

Here are the Guidelines the group had to follow:

Create a WINTER themed card
You may NOT use any Green; Red; or Blue
You must use 5 embellishments
Add some sparkle or shine
You must emboss something
You must have 8 layers stacked on top of one another, somewhere on your card
Your card should be at least 4 ¼ x 5 ½

I used Blush; Colonial White; Slate and Whisper cardstock. The Whisper cardstock was embossed with a Spellbinders M-Bossabilities folder, then embossed with clear embossing powder.

I stamped with Universal Backgrounds on the Slate cardstock, then used a retired set to stamp kiss the mittens. I also used the same stamp in second generation Blush, on the sentiment strip. The sentiment is from Pear & Partridge Card WOTG kit.

I added Silver Shimmer Trim; Slate Polka Dot ribbon; Grey Wool Baker's Twine; a Colonial Whie Brad and Clear Sparkles. I added some Stardust Glitz to the mittens.
