Is variety the spice of life.......?

I think in the card world, it certainly is! These are cards created for my Card Hostess Club with Chantilly paper and Patterned Pennants received for June.
These cards are pretty simple. We used White Daisy for the base and sentiment shape. The background is Twilight cardstock with two patterns. We stamped Buttercup cardstock with the criss cross pattern from Patterned Pennants with Goldrush ink.
The shapes were cut with Art Philosophy and stamped with Joyful Birthday, in Twilight ink. The bottom one got some Green Sparkles.

Birch Tree cutting plate by Taylored Expressions

I must admit, I LOVE Taylored Expressions cutting plates! This birch tree cutting plate is surely my favourite of them all.
Growing up in Saskatchewan, we had many birch trees in our yards and forests of them in more rural areas. When TE released this die, it reminded me of growing up in Saskatoon, and I had to have it. I also added the Birch Tree Accessories; Shade of Thanks; and Birch Tree Border to my purchase.

I used my cutting plate on a flap of a corrugated shipping box from one of my Close To My Heart's orders. They have a white paper on top and it was easily cut from the cardboard with the plate. So the texture you see between the trees is the corrugated part and I have torn it up a bit.

I added chalk to the tree for all of its knots. I cut the tiny bird with the Birch Tree Accessories die from Ruby and Chocolate cardstock. The salutation is cut with, Shade of Thanks die, from White Daisy cardstock. I added a mat of Chocolate cardstock.

You're a HOOT!

While I was making my set of cards last week, I was sure to save this owl while I was cutting my Dream Pop paper. Isn't she a hoot!?
I used a White Daisy card base with Juniper and Whisper cardstock underneath the owl. I used a white glaze pen on her eyes and chest feathers. I also added a bit to the flower centre. The sentiment, stamped in Juniper ink, is from the set "You're A Hoot".

I precut the medallion shape from the Cashmere cardstock, then added a medallion cut from Cotton Candy cardstock, to the top. A Ruby button and Natural  Hemp and a sentiment from, Thank You.

Chantilly gets D'Lited!

Sometimes it gets a wee bit crazy on my work space when I get new tools. I received these new Spellbinders D'Lite dies and went on a cutting frenzy. Here is another die and card.
What is great about these dies, is you really don't need a lot more to complete a card. I used Lagoon cardstock with some White Daisy. I added patterned paper from Chantilly, then our spectacular Sweet Leaf stitched grosgrain ribbon. I stamped with Lagoon ink from, retired A Little Something. I added the die cut in Lagoon cardstock and a Sweet Leaf button.
