Does the Fox really say anything.....?

February is almost upon us, so I'm going to start posting all of the sweet cards I have made with the Feb stamp of the month, Wild About Love.
First I did something with this stamp set I have only done once before......I cut apart an image. These two sweeties were one stamp and I cut them apart, so it would be easier to ink them with 2 different colours. I inked them in Sorbet and Lagoon, with the heart in Ruby. I matted them with Saddle cardstock and stamped the sentiment in Saddle ink.

The patterned paper is from retired Clementine. I stamped with an image from retired, Intrinsic Backgrounds, in Ruby ink on Sorbet cardstock. Then I added a Ruby border. I finished this card with Red Glitter Sparkles and a wood trinket.

All supplies are Close To My Heart.

Fabulous You!

I Love birds....I like to listen to them; I like to photograph them; and I like to make things with them depicted. So, I have created this simple card using, Fabulous You!
I used a White Daisy card base and added Lagoon Cardstock. I stamped with White Daisy pigment ink on Kraft cardstock, using One Way Borders. I stamped the bird image from, Fabulous You, in Desert Sand ink on this Art Philosophy shape.

I edged all shapes with sponged Desert Sand ink. I used a wee bit of Ruby Glitz for the berries on the stamped image. I added Burlap ribbon and a small piece of Glitter Paper to complete the card.

Lifting Round Art!

Are you baffled by my headings.......I try....I really try! I can't say I have created round shaped cards.......but one other time. I saw this card on another CTMH's blog and had to lift for my Embossing & Die cutting class.
The base of these cards is round and cut at 4 1/4 with Art Philosophy. The shape, cut in Indian Corn Blue, was cut at 4 3/4 in order to cover the entire round base. I cut the pattern at 4 1/2 to provide for a nice mat effect.
With CTMH launching its new Spring/Summer Idea Book on Feb 1st and there being 5 awesome embossing folders to buy....I thought I would start incorporating the patterns in my cards, early. The butterflies were also cut with Art Philosophy at least 1/2 or 3/4 of an inch in size difference. We stamped with Desert Sand ink with a favourite script image from, Noted Backgrounds. Added a sentiment and Sparkles and 2 sweet, shaped cards.

All supplies are Close To My Heart, unless noted.
Stamps: Noted Backgrounds; Thank You
Patterned Paper: Florentine
Ink: Desert Sand; Indian Corn Blue
Cardstock: Indian Corn Blue; Colonial White
Embellishments: Blue Sparkles
Tools: Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge

A Spring like Happy Autumn

Here are 2 more cards made at my January Embossing & Die cutting class. I switched up my Happy Autumn stamp set to be less Fall like. I also used an embossing folder that will be coming Feb 1st to Close To My Heart.
I lifted this card design from Pinterest. The accent colour is Lagoon for both cardstock and ink. The sentiment is stamped in Black ink and I tied up both cards with Hemp Baker's Twine.
Each month you can make 6 cards for $12 or purchase a prestamped; die cut; and embossed kit for $14. I include assembly instructions with card photos in each kit. If are not able to pick up a kit, I can let you know what mailing costs would be.

February's will see at least one Valentine's card and some cool letterpress techniques with cutting plates. Email me if you would like to attend the class on Sunday, Feb 9th at 1pm or purchase a kit.

A Blast from the Past

I was organizing stamps and thought I would play with some old favourites, with new found favourites.
I started with my favourite chevrons, from In The Background, and did some emboss resist. Once I heat embossed the chevrons with clear embossing powder, I rubbed Sorbet ink over top. On the top card I first stamped the flower in black, before the embossing. I added the same image in coordinating ink, to a piece of Ruby cardstock.
For this flower, I coloured it in using our alcohol markers. I used Creme Brulee; Sorbet; and one Sunset marker. I added Red Glitz to the centres of both flowers and added different sentiments. I also used Ruby Shimmer Trim and some Gold Glitter paper to embellish.

All supplies are Close To My Heart.
Stamps: In The Background; Thank You; From Me To You
Cardstock: Sorbet; Ruby; Black; White Daisy
Ink: Desert Sand; Versamark; Ruby; Creme Brulee, Sorbet & Sunset alcohol markers

Babycakes meets embossing & challenges

Well, it was a lovely holiday I shared with my husband and children. My husband was on holidays for almost 4 weeks and I enjoyed every minute I could spend with him. The fun and happiness increased once our kids were finished school. Today, it is back to regular schedules and getting projects done!
I am entering this card as "distressed" on Cuttlebug Mania and as having used something new, on Heart 2 Heart challenge blogs.

I embossed Lagoon cardstock, and the small strip at the bottom is Whisper cardstock. The ribbon is Sunset and Buttercup cardstock. I stamped an image from, School Years, on the Buttercup with Chocolate ink. All of my cardstock has been distressed with Desert Sand ink.

I used some new Babycakes Complements Canvas shapes. I thought the canvas was nice and the shapes were all very cute. I just set them aside and never got around to using them, until now. The elephant and sentiment are both from the pack, however, I think the current offerings are no longer in canvas. I added wood circled and Sparkle embellishments, to complete this card.

All supplies are Close to My Heart, unless noted.
Cardstock: Lagoon; Whisper; Cocoa; Sunset; Buttercup; Colonial White
Ink: Desert Sand; Chocolate
