Dynamic Duos Challenge

My Canadian Humble Artrist Swap Sister, Karen Day, told me about this great challenge over at Dynamic Duos. I love it and this is my second challenge for their blog.

Their challenge is to combine two colours and you can use neutrals, also. I just happened to have the two similar colours for this week's challenge, laying out on my workshop table.

I combined Creme Brulee and Cashmere. I stamped an image from Noted Backgrounds in Cashmere ink on Colonial White cardstock. I attached that to a Cashmere cardstock background, then to my Colonial White base. Next I attached a left over piece of patterned paper from Pear & Partridge.

I cut a ticket shape from Art Philosophy and stamped it in Cashmere with an image from, The Best Things. Next, I wrapped the ticket up in some Black Waxy Flax. The Creme Brulee flower was also cut from Art Philosophy, then I added a Prima flower and a Black brad.

The sentiment is from, Thank you. I stamped it with our Black pigment ink, then embossed it with clear embossing powder. I am just in LOVE with our new pigment ink stacks. This is the first I'm using them, since getting them in July. Not sure what I was waiting for....but they are so wonderful to stamp and emboss with.

Quick embossed card

I completed a FABULOUS workshop with our Pear & Partridge Cardmaking kit this past weekend. I hope to get those cards photographed and posted in the next couple of days. In the meantime, here is another of my quick embossed cards.

I love our new Ruby colour and wanted to make a monochromatic card using it. I stamped an image from, Perfect Fit Frames on its designated shape cut from Art Philosophy  The centre image is from the Scroll Album Workshop On The Go stamp set in second generation Ruby ink. The embossed image I believe is one of the new Spellbinders M-Bossibilities.

Oh the possibilities.....

I am constantly tickled when one stamp set, like Perfect Fit Frames, has so many possibilities.

I embossed some White Daisy cardstock with another new embossing folder. I inked the edges with Saddle ink. I am thrilled with how often I seem to be able to pair up this image from Perfect Fit Frames. It worked well with an image from set, Thank You. I also stamped a border from Togetherness on the border.

Everything was stamped with Sorbet ink and the coloured cardstock is also Sorbet.

Merry and Bright strikes AGAIN!

Somehow when I was on my Pear & Partridge paper kick, I missed taking a photo of this card to post. So now I have rectified that and here it is.

This is the one card with Pear & Partridge paper that I actually used the appropriate Cranberry ink for the red. The green ink is Olive. I just cannot tell you how much I love this paper and the Merry & Bright stamp set.

I added Burlap Ribbon; Cranberry Baker's Twine and a wee Opaque for the bird's eye. This berry and flower stamping may very well fuel the look of the Christmas cards I will send out this year.

Embossing Folder crazy!

I am planning embossing classes in 2013 and wanted to get a head start on playing with some new folders I've recently acquired.

I believe this is a new M-Bossability from Spellbinders. I embossed White Daisy cardstock then only used Ruby cardstock as my accent colour.

I inked the edges with Desert Sand ink, as well as, stamping "JOY" with an image from Universal Backgrounds. The "J" was cut from Artiste and the "OY" cut from Opposites Attract Cricut cartidges.

I added some fantastic Burlap ribbon and a Red Button. The button is tied up with a thread I pulled from the Burlap ribbon.

The Moonlight is shining bright!

I know my titles are sad, but I'm just trying to write something that will make you have to look at what I've created! This is my latest Hostess Project Club gift.

We used the Moonlight Workshop On The Go kit to make a layout this month. I also put together a coffin box from our amazing Artiste Cricut cartridge for the gals to see. If they wanted one cut, I did that for them, too.

So this little Hostess 3x3 gift card set was created with Pun Fun and one of our wonderful NEW Alcohol markers. There are 2 of each design in the 8 card set. I used Sweet Leaf and its companion Alcohol marker along with retired Autumn Terracotta marker. I stamped the images with Black Memento ink on Colonial White cardstock. I added a scalloped oval cut with Art Philosophy, then a strip of Black cardstock. I finished the cards off with Sparkles; Topiary buttons; and Colonial White Waxy Flax.

Pumbkins abound this FALL

I had a great week with some wonderful rainy weather, then a beautiful Fall weekend. I had my Project Hostess club girls over last night, then realized I was behind on my pumpkin project.
So.........here is my Fall pumpkin.

I put this card together, first, for this week's H2H Design Team Challenge: Hallowe'en/Pumpkins. You can create some artwork depicting Hallowe'en/Pumpkins and post it on our challenge blog, too.

I started by putting some Sunset cardstock through my big shot, in an embossing folder. I splotched a little Sunset ink on with a sponge.

I stamped the pumpkin image from Abundance on Sunset cardstock, then added the word image in Black. The sentiment is from, So Grateful, stamped in Black on Sunset cardstock. I added some Black Flourishes sparkles; then a corduroy brad; button and waxy flax all in Black.

I'm also entering this card over at Dynamic Duos Challenge Blog, for their #25 Orange and Black challenge.

Hostess Gifts

I previously mentioned I was creating 3x3 card sets for each of my club Hostesses, when their month came around. We met this past Monday and here is what the gift cards looked like.

I made 4 of each design. They are the simplest things to make with only 1 piece of cardstock and less than 1/2 a sheet of patterned paper. I accented with scalloped circles in Ruby and stamped with Olive and Ruby ink. The images are from Perfect Fit-Holidays.

All supplies are Close To My Heart.

Merry and Bright with H2H

As with yesterday's card, I will enter this in the H2H Challenge this week, for a Christmas theme. This is another card created for my Card Hostess Club.

I used both sides of one piece of patterned paper from Pear & Partridge. The card on a Ruby base and so is the wreath. I inked the wreath in Olive ink, then just gently wiped the ink away from the flowers, before stamping. I found the colours were too muddy when I stamped the Ruby ink over top of the Olive ink. I added a dot of Stardust Glitz to the centre of each flower.

The sentiment is stamped in Ruby ink and I tied up a Red Button with a thread pulled from the Burlap Ribbon.

H2H with Very Merry Christmas

I thought since I created a Christmas card workshop for my Card Club, I could share my cards and play along with the second H2H Christmas Challenge. You can join to by creating something Christmas themed.

I must say, I am very smitten with CTMH's Pear and Partridge paper package. So that is what I started with....these two patterns are on the same piece of cardstock...what a dilemma!

This glorious bulb image is from October's stamp of the month, Very Merry Christmas. It is one of the best Christmas SOTM EVER! There are so many images in this set that have cuts on our Artiste Cricut cartridge....it is crazy!

I added an Olive cardstock strip underneath our FABULOUS Burlap Ribbon. I tied up the ornament with Cranberry Baker's Twine. Then I stamped the sentiment in Ruby ink; cut the notch in the end; then added a Ruby mat.

Perfect Fit Frames meet Embossing Folders

I purchased several new embossing folders, while I was visiting Oregon and wanted to make some quick cards with them.

I started with a Sorbet base, then added my embossed Colonial White sheet. I wanted this card monochromatic, so added a Sorbet border I stamped with an image from Eclectic Edges. The scallop circle is stamped with an image from Perfect Fit Frames, with the sentiment from Kudos.

Merry and Bright!

It seems a wee bit early for the Christmas production to begin, but I have been having fun with new Merry & Bright stamp set, along with Pear & Partridge paper. I have an upcoming Card Hostess Club and me thinks the Gals will be making this card.

I used Cashmere cardstock on the Colonial White base. I added this beautiful patterned paper to the top and edged both with Ruby ink. I random stamped Ruby cardstock with a few images, then added a border from one of the paper's zip strip.

The shape was stamped with the berries in Olive ink and the sentiment and flowers in Ruby ink. I added a left over piece of Burlap ribbon and tied up a red button with a string pulled from that ribbon.

H2H Number Birthday Challenge

HAPPY THANKSGIVING and Columbus Day!

It is time for another Design Team challenge on the H2H Challenge blog. This time the challenge is to use a number or numbers on the front of a Birthday card. Lucky for me, it was my Husband's birthday on the 4th.

I put this card together in the wee hours before we left on a mini family getaway, for a long Thanksgiving weekend. We are driving to Vancouver, WA for a night; then to Yachats, Oregon for two; then back to Vancouver for 2 more. It is all about the shopping, which will include gross quantities of both cheese and bacon!

Anyway, on to this card....I started with lovely patterned paper from the Florentine pack. The base cardstock is Saddle, then I added Olive and Twilight to go with the Colonial White sentiment shape and card base. I stamped the sentiment from one of my all time favourites, A Little Everything, in Saddle ink.

The Twilight piece was stamped with Olive ink with a beautiful images from retired, Legendary Moments. The numbers are chipboard and stamped in Saddle ink with an image from Kudos, an Artiste Cricut cartridge stamp set.

I added our gorgeous Burlap Ribbon with some Antiqued Gold Buttons. For just a wee bit more, I tied pulled burlap threads through the Burlap Ribon.

Now it is your turn to play along and create a Birthday card with a number(s) on the front and link up on the H2H Challenge blog.

Want to see my Flakey Friends?

I have some new "Flakey Friends" this year....in the way of a new Close To My Heart stamp set! I felt it was time to get one of these boys inked up.

I did a monotone card using Indian Corn Blue for ink and accent colour. The snowflakes are cut with Crystal Blue cardstock and stamped with ICB. The sentiment was stamped with Black ink, so it would stamp out just a wee bit more. I added Stardust Glitz to the cut and stamped snowflakes. The White Daisy cardstock background was embossed with a Sizzix embossing folder.

I stamped the top and bottom in Ruby ink with a border from stamp set, Winter Joy. The sentiment border is Champagne cardstock stamped with a Jingle Border image in coordinating ink. I stamped "Joy" in Ruby ink from Christmas Love.

The mits are cut with our Artiste cartridge, then stamped with Very Merry Christmas. I strung them up with some Cranberry Baker's Twine to a Bitty Black Brad.

I decided with every Hostess Club Workshop, I would present the Hostess with a set of 3x3 cards made from the paper pack we were using. This is an example of one of the cards my September Card Hostess received.

I used La Belle Vie Mauve as a base, then added a border of LBV Pink. I cut the shape with Artiste, from Sweet Leaf cardstock. The image is from Bonjour, stamped in Smokey Plum. I added some bling with Sparkles.

This is the final card my Card Hostess Club made. They made 4 each of the three cards I've posted using La Belle Vie paper and stamp set, A Friend Like You.

The strip of Bamboo cardstock is stamped in Bamboo with an image from the Scroll Album WOTG stamp set. The sentiment is added in Smokey Plum from A Friend Like  You.

There is another piece of patterned paper then a shape cut from Artiste to coordinate with a stamped image from, Perfect Fit - Frames. It is stamped in Black for more drama, then the bee is stamped in Smokey Plum on a Colonial White circle. The circle is popped up on foam dots. Too late for a challenge?

I seem to be falling behind at many things these days....but not my classes. For the first time ever, I have actually had my class projects done way ahead of time. Challenges, on the other hand, I make cards but don't seem to get them posted in time....this is one of those cards!

I started with the beautiful Clementine paper onto a Creme Brulee cardstock background. I added a strip of Saddle cardstock down the middle and edged it with zip strips cut from the patterned paper.

I stamped the flowers from Words of Comfort in Sorbet and Creme Brulee ink. The sentiment is stamped in Saddle ink. The circle and flowers were cut from Art Philosophy. I stamped Sorbet ink on the Sorbet cardstock flowers with a chevron pattern from the Buttons Bits & Bobs stamp set. I added Opaques to finish off the flowers.

Unfortunately, while I kept good notes on the supplies I used to make this card, I did not note what Challenge this card was for. Since it is too late, I guess that is really of no consequence anyway!
