I received my order with all NEW products from our NEW Seasonal Expressions.
WOW! ZAP! POW!
I loved what I saw pictured, but am BLOWN AWAY now that I am using our NEW stamps and coordinating thin metal dies.
I didn't want just plain, flat cacti, but sparkly ones. I wasn't sure how I would master this, so first I cut the shapes from our Purple; Silver and Turquoise Glitter Paper. I stamped on one, as a trial, with Black Pigment Ink. I then dipped it in Fine Black Embossing Powder. (I didn't know if embossing Glitter paper would do anything other than melt glitter....but you gotta try at least once!) I used my heat gun and VIOLA, it worked, you could see the stamped image on the Glitter Paper.
Well, wasn't I ecstatic with myself, so I stamped and embossed several more cacti. I stamped the flower with Memento Black ink, then used Cotton Candy and Pixie ink with my water brush. I busted out retired Autumn Terracotta ink and cardstock for the pots and mat. For the large pot on the right, I stamped first with second generation ink, then rolled the edges of the stamp in ink again, before over stamping the pot. I put the cacti on patterned paper from the lovely Charlotte and added a Gold Sequin to the centre of the flower. I stamped the sentiment with Black ink and called this one done.

ReplyDeleteBut seriously, I LOVE these sparkly cacti!
Who doesn't love a sparkly cactus?? Your new technique is brilliant... These are my two fave items in the new catty - Charlotte & the cacti (other than the balloon animals of course!)
ReplyDeleteThese turned out so cute. I wouldn't have thought to stamp on glitter paper, much less heat emboss it. Wow! Good job!
