This is one of the many cards I created for sale at one of the coffee shops. I used Claire patterned paper with a Sunset mat. I added ribbons of Ruby; Lagoon; Sorbet and a spritzed White Daisy cardstock. The butterfly was cut from Chantilly paper. The sentiment shape and card base are Colonial White. A special request card

Recently, I was thrilled when a customer at one of the coffee shops I sell cards at, asked if I would make a special card. This is the card I created.
This card was for a gal graduating to high school and her favourite colour was green. It was her Grandmother who had stopped for a coffee, saw my cards, and inquired if I did special requests. Well, of course I do and I set out to make this card as special as I could.

This card is 5.7 and uses patterned paper from retired Lucy; Dotty For You; and Chantilly. The base is a White Daisy, so I coordinated sentiments with that, then have Whisper and Lagoon cardstock, also. I used our wonderful Houndstooth Irrestible Dimensional Elements Alphabet for the name. I rubbed some Pear ink on then either stamped or wrote with Lagoon or Whisper ink. I added some Sweet Leaf Bigger Brads and Sweet Leaf grosgrain ribbon.

All supplies are Close To My Heart.

Here I added Ruby cardstock stamped with a flower from a retired border set. I used Keyboard Kraft alphabet stickers for, "Hello", on the monkey card. For the hippo card, I stamped the sentiment from the Animal Cracker stamp set in Dutch Blue. I also stamped with an image from, Spot On Backgrounds, in second generation Dutch Blue ink.

A lined up scrappy Thank You!

I am trying to find creative uses for my hundreds of scraps....rather than recycling them. Here is one example of using up just cardstock.
My card base is Colonial White and the scraps are Sweet Leaf; Holiday Red; Buttercup; Dutch Blue; Blush; Sunset; Sunny Yellow and Sky. I stamped the sentiment shape with the chevron image from, In The Background. The sentiment is from, 4 My Friend. The flourishes and sentiment are stamped in Outdoor Denim ink.

Back after Canada Day!

I hope my Canadian friends had a Happy Canada Day! We had a scorching hot day for Victoria, so hiding in our basement was mostly how we spent the day!
Here are another 2 cards my club made for June.
We started with Twilight cardstock, then added Chantilly patterned papers. I cut a 1" strip of Chantilly textiles for each of the cards, then ran a large basting stitch through it. The sentiment is from, Thank You, and is stamped in Ruby and Twilight inks.
